How I Learned to Code
When I was a window cleaner many years ago. The way I used to do estimates was to tally windows on a clipboard. Often I would wonder if I counted the window while the customer was talking with me.
After iPhones came out I was thinking there must be an app that makes sounds when clicked so you know you counted the window. I could not find one so I thought how hard can this be I will create my own app.
I quickly found this is much harder than I thought. My first experience in learning to code was to jump in to one of the hardest coding languages to learn at the time. I got frustrated and contemplated giving up.
That’s when a friend pointed out it’s best to learn the fundamentals first so I enrolled in Thinkful’s Web Developer Bootcamp. This is where my published app Thailand Explorer was first born much more polished now.
Now I have apps on the App Store that solve real problems my app Window Counter and the second generation Window Cleaning Estimator solved the problems I had may years ago as a window cleaner and it’s still relevant to window cleaners today.
Needless to say I never gave up learning and I still enjoy learning and helping people more today.
